Movember is Here

November 1st is here and that means Movember is upon us!

Movember: (a slang word "mo" for moustache and "November") is an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancer initiatives. The Movember Foundation runs the Movember charity event, housed at Movember.com. The goal of Movember is to "change the face of men's health."

In order to raise awareness and hopefully some cash, we here at UWCSEA have created a team on the Movember website. I have my own page, and if you want to help raise some money, you can ask your parents to leave a donation here.

I have decided to start with a clean slate:

You can also help.
  • Please do a bit of research: find some facts about men's health, find tips for staying healthy, find resources for men in terms of cancer etc...and leave what you find in the comments below, or write a post for your blog and share the link in the comments.
  • Make a fake moustache and wear it around school. When people ask you why, educate them about Movember and men's health.
  • Share my website with friends and family and help raise funds. You can also bring cash and I will find a way to get it to Mr. Karl Wilcox our school organizer.
Let's see where this moustache will grow for the whole month! Please spread the word, make a moustache you can wear and tell people to help raise awareness about men's health and raise some money for the cause.

  1. Hi Mr. Raisdana,

I got some cool facts on Movember- so do check my blog. I think that raising money this way is a creative, and innovative way, that will spread the message around faster and faster.
