Survivor

I know we talk a lot about blogging. What? Why? How? We feel that some of us share too much, some of not enough? We are all finding our way right?

This morning I woke to this news:
Speaking on camera for the first time since she survived an assassination attempt by the Pakistani Taliban last year, the young activist Malala Yousafzai began with the words, “Today you can see that I’m alive.” The 15-year-old, who was shot in the head as she left school in Pakistan’s Swat Valley four months ago, promised that she would continue to be an outspoken advocate of the right for “every girl, every child, to be educated.”

It is a good reminder, that we are lucky to live in a place where we are free to own a space on the internet where we can be heard. We might not know what to say, and that is okay, but it is important to remember for some people, just the right to speak can get you killed.

Humbled by the bravery and tenacity of this amazing young woman. Makes me proud to be a blogger.

We see and hear you too Malala. We see and hear you too. What would you say to her if you had the chance?
