"Embracing a limitation could actually drive creativity."
So often I hear students talking about their limitations:
"I can't do that. I am not good at that. No way, would I ever do that. I don't have the voice, the body, the skills."
But what if we chose to use are perceived limitations to our advantage? What if we focused on the things we felt we weren't good at, and chose to be creative around those very skills. Take a look at this video and meet me on the other side:
"Once I embraced the shake, I realized I could still make art. I just had to find a different approach to making the art I needed."
So what is your shake? What is holding you back? How can you embrace your limitations to actually help you become more creative? How can you change your view to help you, "move from frustration to anticipation quickly?"
Share your thoughts on the video or these ideas below. Would love to hear what you have to say.

Drawings & Wrestling
Big thanks to Victoria, over at The Hybrid World for this sweet drawing of What is the What.
Glad to see that she is liking it so much. Looks like Max is getting into the spirit of research as well with this great post on what he is learning.
What about you? Any interesting stories that you have unearthed? Any Sudan inspired art? Remember if you are feeling heavy and worn down, write, draw, create and share your ideas and feelings. We are here to listen and help carry the load.

melted smiles
Sometimes you do something that makes me beam and smile and beam and smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Sometimes it feels like that maybe I am not talking to a wall, that maybe you are absorbing the various lessons I try to teach. Not the ones about skills and thesis and writing and paragraphs, but the ones about life and learning and art and joy and sharing and you.
This is one such example. Thank you so much to Chloe for taking the time to create and share such a tender and honest film about her hobbies, her failures, and her weird and charming quirkiness. Please take the time to join the conversation on her blog about "failure" and joy.
